Laptop Fire Containment Bag

Many pilots are using personal electronic devices (PED) in the cockpit for document management and for navigation. While a PED can provide critical flight information, they can also introduce a life-threating issue. Most PEDs use a Lithium-Ion battery for power. Lithium-Ion batteries contain a tremendous amount of energy and have a history of becoming dangerous thermal runaways. Do you have a plan to deal with a battery fire in the cockpit?

Constructed with FAA certified materials, these heavy-duty containment bags will reduce the risk of bodily harm and property damage in the event of battery fire or explosion. Many different layers provide redundant protection for any thermal runaway situation. A carbon layer will withstand up to 3000 degree Fahrenheit temperatures. A layer of Kevlar material will help contain projectiles in the event of an explosion. Bright orange exterior is easy to spot in an emergency.

These bags are used by dozens of large flight departments, including NetJets and Gulfstream, plus the US Navy and Air Force. Each bag includes a set of gloves for handling a hot PED. Laptop bag measures 14”w x 17”h x 2”d and weighs 29 oz.
